MODINE and EXOES sign a cooperation agreement
Modine and Exoès announce the signature of a cooperation agreement to do common tests to jointly improve their respective products and to better understand the Rankine system as a whole.
Both companies see many synergies in this cooperation as their respective products – heat exchangers and expanders – are tightly linked to enable a Rankine system to reach the best efficiency/cost ratio.
According to the terms of this agreement, Modine will test some of its products on Exoès’ complete new dynamic test bench. Each company will analyze the system impact on their respective components.
This waste heat recovery system, based on the Rankine cycle principle, recovers the exhaust heat to transform it into mechanical or electrical power, thus reducing fuel consumption and emissions for cars and trucks.
Frank Lippke, Global Research Manager at Modine :
“Modine is a 100 year-old company and one of the leading developers of heat exchangers for vehicular Rankine cycle systems. This agreement will enable Modine to improve the performance of its heat exchangers while better understanding the system impact on our products. We found in Exoès a really skilled partner in expanders and testing to accelerate our development and together better understand the system behavior and impact on our components. Waste heat recovery is foreseen to appear first on long-haul trucks, bringing them fuel savings and emission improvements”.
Arnaud Desrentes, C.E.O. at Exoès :
“We are proud to work with Modine, one of the top companies in waste heat recovery based on Rankine cycle systems. This cooperation will enable Exoès to improve its expander efficiency and cost while integrating the system impact on its development. This also gives Exoès a strong position in the field of waste heat recovery for cars and trucks. We consider this technology as the next big thing to reduce engine fuel consumption and emissions and this partnership will help us to accelerate our access to the market”.
